Should we concentrate our networking efforts on meeting new contacts or the contacts we’ve already got? It’s a little like existing clients v potential new clients. We need both, but our existing clients should be the No1 priority.
When we go to networking events, we’re often meeting new contacts and that’s great. We can’t have an existing contact unless we’ve met them somewhere for the first time!
But as well as quantity in our contact spheres, we need to have quality – those contacts we’ve met several times, really got to know and developed good relationships with, even friendships. That’s where the support for each other really comes in. And it’s long-term.
So who have you not met for a while and need to have a catch up with? If you know, like and trust each other, it’ll be time well spent.
I help companies, teams and individuals develop a highly-effective, repeatable ‘Before, during, after & ever after’ networking process. If you’d like to chat about your or your team’s networking, and want to win more business, please contact KLT.
